Service and vibe are excellent. However, the food here is an absolute disgrace to a Izakaya and to the friendly hardworking staff. The chef of this place likely never had any Japanese food ever. He/She probably watched some TV show before decided to open this restaurant. Ordered Katsu Don and Oyako Don. The Katsu Don,Since when people start to add soy sauce in the batter for a Katsu? For this price of a piece of Katsu, at least the chef should care to use panko instead of just flour to fry the pork. The pork is way over fried and dry as hell. You can tell from the color and crust bits like rock. The chef should be ashamed for even serving this Oyako Don. Never order this, this is not what you expect to have at all!! This is not Oyako Don at all, this is KFC over rice, while the fried chicken is not even as good as KFC one. The chicken is completely blend and a little bit undercooked, easily tell from the picture. FYI, Oyako means father and son, chicken being the father and egg being the son. Oyako Don is diced chicken and egg cooked with onion and merin sauce. Serving KFC over rice is just disrespectful to all diners and the name of Oyako Don.

My first visit to Izakaya was the week they opened so I put off writing this review until I could visit again once they've settled in a bit and worked out some kinks. Things were quite different when I went back β€” most notably a much more paired down menu and QR code ordering. The menu during my first visit had so many meat-free options and most all of them were delicious. My party loved the potato croquettes and mushroom risotto, both things I was sad to see eliminated from the current menu. The deliciously smokey and spicy corn ribs remain, as do the perfectly cooked scallion pancakes and onigiri. During my second visit my partner and I had the Omuraisu, omelet with ketchup-fried rice, which we really enjoyed. It has a nice deep flavor different from any other fried rice we've had in the area. The meat-free options that remain are great, but I do wish they would've kept some of my original faves. My one note about the food is that they use togarashi veryyyy generously on a lot of the dishes, which for someone who doesn't love spice can get very overpowering and uncomfortable. The cocktail menu really shines here. The drinks are expensive, but well made and balanced. I tried seve

Went with 3 friends and ordered a bunch of small plates as well as mains. There was nothing that we didn’t love; everything looked and tastes amazing. The quality is very good - my only complaint was pricing on some plates feels off. The shrimp dumplings were good, but 4 small steamed dumplings cost $15! For the same price you can get a huge plate of omurice that is very filling. However, the omurice looked/tasted more like scrambled eggs on top of ketchup fried rice, rather than the specialty omelette Japan is famous for. Very tasty, but not what I was expecting. Everyone loved the beef curry which was excellent, I only wish it had a little bit more meat in it. The Chawanmushi and onigiri were also crowd pleasers!

Loved the modern decor and the unique experience of walking past a bank vault to enter! The food is well-flavored, though the value varies. While $9 for a small edamame or miso soup felt overpriced, the $19 fried chicken and omelette rice bowl was an incredible value and super filling. Next time, I’d skip the appetizers entirely and just order the large entrees. Tall folks: Ask for the main seating, as the traditional chairs in the rooms are a bit cramped. Service was attentive and kind.

Perfect for an elegant evening out, whether date night or celebrating with friends and family. Food is excellent and looks like artwork, decor beautiful, staff friendly. They even have tabletop games to play!
